Starting somewhere new is exciting, and we know it can feel a bit overwhelming too. This page will walk you through your first days so you feel welcomed, supported, and part of the team from day one.

1. Getting Started: Your Operational Onboarding

Even before you officially begin, we’ve been working hard to ensure everything is smooth for you. Your hardware and essential tools should be ready on Day 1. You’ve also received a helpful Community Induction plan in your inbox before your first day, packed with answers to common questions.

Our People Hub is a fantastic resource, a treasure trove of information. To help you connect with colleagues across our global team, we even use smart tools like the Slack Donut plugin for random introductory pairings. It’s a great way to meet people from across the business and, indeed, the world!

2. Manager Check-ins

During your first week, your manager will check in with you daily. This is key to ensuring you feel supported and seamlessly integrate into the team.

You'll also get to meet your core team during your first week! This is a great way to start building your network at DS. These connections will be key to navigating our matrixed organization.

4. Important Considerations for Your First Week

  • Go easy on yourself: Don't feel pressured to absorb everything at once. New hires often feel a bit overwhelmed, so allow yourself time to process information, and learn about the business.

  • Stay positive and be patient: Building relationships takes time, so embrace the journey.

  • Ask questions: Your buddy and team is there as a safe space for any questions you might have.

  • Celebrate small wins: Do this with your peers – it makes the journey even more enjoyable.

Our onboarding process is designed to give you a powerful start at DS. It's both structured, with a clear timeline of key milestones and learning, and interactive, encouraging you to connect and ask questions from day one. This journey, paired with the dedicated support of your buddy, is your foundation for success.
