If you have asked someone in your team to take on specific additional responsibilities or to ‘step up’ into a role on a defined temporary basis, then it may be appropriate to review their compensation for this period. This may be to cover during a colleague’s leave, during a hiring period or to lead a critical short-term project outside of the expected day job.
Please contact the Reward team to discuss the nature of the request who will be able to advise the appropriate, fair and consistent recommendation, typically an additional allowance for the period and is not considered salary for pension, benefits or otherwise. Any recommendation will require budget-holder approval.
Please note that this doesn’t apply to routine changes to work where we expect Digital Science employees to demonstrate flexibility.
